The Pousada do Baguari is situated between the lakes Sia Mariana and Chacorore with in the heart of one of the most beautiful regions in the Panatanal-Norht. The region of Barăo de Melgaço is distinguished by an unusual variety of landscapes being divided between hills and lakes and rivers or grassy plains. The biggest, the Baia de Chacorore, having a diameter of more than 15 km. The nearest airport is Cuiabá, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso. The distance to Pousada Baguari is 122 km, of which 90 km unpaved road and duration of the transfer is aprox. 3.5 hours, depending on how many stops are made on the way to admire the landscape and animals. 17 fully apartments with air conditioning, mini bar, TV, private veranda and bath with hot and cold water. The apartments have been renovated recently all the rustic decoration offers a very cozy atmosphere.
At the restaurant you have an excellent choice of regional dishes and delicious desserts. A swimming pool for adults and for children with bar and a kiosk with hammocks to relax and enjoy the view on the Pantanal landscape. A games room is availiable with pooltable, table-tennis, chess/checkers and card-games. There is a TV-room with cable-TV, internet-access and next to that it is possible (optional) to arrange a boat with experienced pilot to go out fishing. Other services are a souvernir-shop, a runway for smaller airplanes and international telephone connections. Excursions on horse back, by foot or with boats to observe the exuberant wildlife of the Pantanal.
Tour example: (All tours will be individually arranged for according to your desires and constitution. Our guides will always take into consideration your suggestions; therefore the example described in the following is only a rough example). 1st day: Cuiabá - PantanalReception and assistance upon your arrival at Cuiabá Airport. Transfer to the Pousada Baguari passing through the small village Mimoso, where Cândido Rondon was born. Arrival at the lodge at dinner time. After dinner, presentation of the Pousada Baguari as well as the program for the next days. Obs.: At the first day, depending the arriving time at lodge, activities free (fishing at deck, swimming pool, snooker, etc). (D2nd day: PantanalAfter breakfast, go by boat passing through the Mutum River Bridge. In this itinerary is possible to observe the exuberant pantaneira flora. Walking for photo safari, with observation of birds and mammals in the return to Pousada Baguari. After the lunch, departure for the nesting of birds. On the way, stop to know the village of fishermen and riverside community, getting in touch with the local culture. In the nesting we will observe the bedrooms of several species of birds; and we will go by boat through the rivers and corixos of the Pantanal, among them Cuiabá River.
Walk in the nesting for appreciation of the species of birds and animals that live there. Depending on the period we can go until the observation tower in the middle of the nesting and contemplate that grandiose show. In the return, stop for appreciation of the sunset in the gorgeous bay of Siá Mariana, including the piranhas fishing and the observation of crocodiles and others night-active animals by means of searchlight, return to lodge. Before the dinner a delicious broth of piranha, typical in the region, will be served. Dinner and overnight. 3rd day: PantanalAfter breakfast go by car through the Capoeirinha/Joselândia Road. In the way we will make stops to appreciate the fauna and flora of the area, the lunch will be served in the field where we will pass all the afternoon watching the fauna, flora and the Birds nesting. Great possibilities to view the Hyacinth Macaws from July to October. Ex.: maned wolf, armadillos, anteaters, capybaras, monkeys, toco toucan, among other species. After dinner, observation of crocodiles and other night-active animals by means of searchlight.4th day: Pantanal - CuiabáAfter breakfast return to Cuiabá Airport and departure.
