The Piuval Lodge is located 110 km from Cuiabá and 10 km from Poconé in
the state of Mato Grosso. It is the first lodge along the
Transpantaneira Highway, which begins in Poconé. The lodge is situated
on a 7000-hectare cattle ranch with one of the most beautiful
landscapes in the Pantanal. Here tourists can observe the abundance and
diversity of Pantanal flora and fauna. The lodge has 20 guest rooms with air conditioning and ceiling fans, private bathrooms, TV, W-Lan, Frigobar and screened-in windows providing fresh air. The fully screened restaurant serves typical Pantanal meals. Leisure facilities are a swimming pool, volleyball court and playground, also Souvenirshop.
There are many ways to see the Pantanal at Piuval Lodge. All outings are accompanied by local guides and include: Hiking Trails - Where you cas see monkeys, caimans, hyacinth macaws, jabiru storks, toucans, rheas, ibis, coatis, capybaras, anteaters, tapirs, and other animals, in addition to a variety of plant life; Horseback riding - Providing the same opportunities to see plants and animals as on foot, Boat trips and piranha fishing - on the largest natural lake in the area, located on the ranc, with a stop to see monkeys, owls, and other animals that live on the forested bank.
Tour example: (All tours will be individually arranged for according to your desires and constitution. Our guides will always take into consideration your suggestions; therefore the example described in the following is only a rough example). 1st day: Cuiabá – Pantanal (110 km)Arrival in Cuiabá, where assistance, with name board, is waiting for you. Transfer to Pousada Piuval, situated in the Pantanal. Arrival and check-in. During your stay the following tours will be scheduled at the pousada; horse riding, boat rides, trekking, piranha fishing, birdwatching, photo safari and nocturnal viewing of caymans. Overnight at Pousada Piuval.
2nd - 3rd day: PantanalThe trips mentioned above are scheduled at the pousada. The trips will be carefully selected, depending the climate and time of the year and will be guided by local guides that know all about the flora and fauna that make this place unique. To avoid the intense heath during the day, the tours are taking place early in the morning and mid-afternoon, at these times of the day, the possibilities of seeing the movement of the animals are a lot bigger. During your stay all excursions and meals are included. Overnight at Pousada Piuval.4th day: Pantanal - CuiabaAfter breakfast return to Cuiabá Airport and departure.
