Pousada do Parque - Chapada dos Guimarães

The Lodge has a strategical location for those who really want to be near nature. It's the ideal place for trekkers, environmentalists and general nature lovers, who are looking for a comfortable place, and several activity options that have to do with the natural wonders of Chapada dos Guimarães.


Located on the border of the National Park of Chapada dos Guimarães - state of Mato Grosso, the lodge is next to the park's biggest attractions, such as: the Bridal Yeil Water Fall, São Jerônimo Hill,a serie of Waterfalls, Stone House, Tope de Fita, Carretão , trails etc. In its private preservation area, the Lodge has 2 breathtakingWaterfalls (from December to the beginning of July), an outlook print, Cavern, Stone Portal, tracks of easy access and possibility of horse-riding.  In the Lodge you, your family and friends will enjoy a friendly, simple and calm environment, and fascinating sightseeing, to live great moments with the fauna and flora of Chapada dos Guimarães.



Rooms:

The Lodge provides 8 apartments in rustic style (very little), with private bathroom and airconditioning.

It also possesses area of leisure with swimming pool, veranda with hammroks, mini-academy, kiosk and fireplace. The extremely pleasant climate excuses the use of airconditioning. After one day's walking all you'll want is to relax, and here is the ideal place.



The Restaurant Teta da Loba is located beside the headquarters. With a wonderful view, the customers can enjoy the menu of tasty home-made food. The food is cooked in a firewood stove, having the tradition respected , and the plates are displayed on top of the stove. The meals must be requested some time before.



This Lodge is visited increased also by bird enthusiasts. About 280 different species of bird are find in the surroundings of the Lodge. Who does look for quiet and seclusion, at this also small and bigger would like to carry out walks in wonderful surroundings, is here exactly right.



Waterfall trail

This 3-mile trail passes by the main park waterfalls. The first is the famous Bridal veil fall, the park's biggest with 86 m. Next come Sete de Setembro River 7 waterfall. Among them, Independência, Pulo and the swallows. The presence of a guide is necessary.

Rock Trail

It's an 8-km walk through one of the main archaeological sites of the Chapada. Among the attractions are the Stone House, Stone Cayman, Perforated Stone, Mushroom and Sacrifice Table. Inside the area you can visit the São Jerônimo mount, the tailest spot of the park, with 836 m height.

Stone City

The walk is short (300 m), going through rocky formations, sculptured by wind and rain. Its forms remind of the ruins of a city. The Cliff drop grant over 300 m, free. The access to the Stone City is via the Agua Fria road.

Hell´s Gate

From this spot you may see the Stone City in the distance. The most curious fact of this attraction is that, on climbing the mountain range (before the gate's curve), if you stop the car and its engine, it'll go up instead of down.

Nossa Senhora do Sacramento Church

On the central park of the Chapada dos Guimarães city, this historical monument was built in 1779, by slaves. Completely in barroco style, its altar is golden and still conserved.

Salgadeira

This is a former cattle drovers´stop where jerky was salted, which is actually a tourist terminal, the sightseer may find restaurants and the Waterfall.
