Sie lernen auf dieser Reise unterschiedliche Ökosysteme kennen. Dazu werden Sie zweimal die Unterkunft wechseln. Die beiden Unterkünfte - Fazenda Rio Clarinho und Pousada Rio Claro - haben die Umgebung der Lodge naturbelassen und keine Veränderungen der Natur vorgenommen, so dass die Landschaft (Galeriewälder, Cerrado) im ursprünglichen Zustand erhalten wurde. Für Menschen die Ruhe, Abgeschiedenheit, eine familiäre freundschaftliche Atmosphäre suchen, aber dafür auf Komfort verzichten, ist diese Tour genau das Richtige.

So erleben Sie (ganzjährig) die unterschiedlichen Landschaften und kehren mit einem Maximum an neuen Eindrücken und Erfahrungen aus dem Pantanal zurück – und natürlich vielen Fotos von “Krokodilen” (die der Fachmann als “Alligatoren” und “Kaimane” bezeichnet).

You sleep alternatively in the tent (camping) on the area of the Lodge or in the double, three bed or four bed room with bath/shower.



Program 5 days/4 nights

1st day: Cuiabá - Fazenda Rio Clarinho

Pick up at the Cuiabá airport by one our guides. Ride of about 100 km on tarmac roads to Poconé. On arrival in Poconé you will have lunch with a typical Brazilian family and enjoy the local Matogronesian cuisine (depending on time of arrival). Following is the ride to the first lodging, the Pousada Rio Claro, of about 45 km along the Transpantaneira including stops for observation of the flora and fauna along the Transpantaneira. Arrival at the Pousada Rio Claro, 4 km off the Transpantaneira on the riverside of the Rio Claro.

In the later evening  you will go for a boating trip in order to trace different birds and howler monkeys. Night safari with flashlights and searchlights for observation of nocturnal animals after supper. Overnight in double-, 3-bed-, 4-bed-room or in tent (Camping).

2nd day: Fazenda Rio Clarinho

After breakfast you will get a first overview over the diverse vegetation as well as over the animal and plant life during a hiking trip. You will search for the nests of the Jabiru stork (June to September) and the Hyacinth Macaw and further birds. After a siesta (e.g. in a hammock) you will get, with a horse ride, one of the best chances to explore the Pantanal region. After supper you will again go on tour to trace caimans and nocturnal animals. Overnight in double-, 3-bed-, 4-bed-room or in tent (Camping).

3rd day: Pousada Rio Claro

Vor dem Frühstück Bootstour auf dem Fluss Rio Clarinho um das Erwachen von verschiedenen Vögeln und anderen Tierarten zu beobachten. Nach dem Frühstück Fahrt zur Pousada Rio Claro (Fahrtzeit etwa halbe Stunde). Die Lodge liegt direkt an der Transpantaneira. Nach Ankunft auf der Pousada Rio Claro Zimmerbelegung und Gelegenheit zum Erfrischen. Im Anschluß sind bereits erste Touren, je nach Ihrer Kondition bereits durchführbar. Sie können aber auch einfach am Swimmingpool ausruhen. Am Nachmittag unternehmen Sie noch eine Reittour in der Umgebung der Lodge. Nach dem Abendessen wird noch eine Nachtsafari zum Aufspüren von nachtaktiven Tieren durchgeführt.


4th day: Pousada Rio Claro

Gegen 5 Uhr Sonnenaufgangstour. Erleben Sie das Erwachen der Tier- und Pflanzenwelt im Pantanal, ein einmaliges Naturschauspiel, was Sie nicht verpassen sollten. Am nahe gelegenen Rio Claro (Fluss) können Sie eine Vielzahl von Eisvogelarten (Chloroceryle), Sperreiher (Agamia agami), Gabelschwanz Königstyrann (Tyrannus savana), Blaukehlguan (Aburria pipile), Riesentukan (Ramphastos toco) und Riesenottern beobachten. In der Nähe befindet sich ein Galeriewald, in dem sehr viele Vogelarten, wie Blauscheiteltrogon (Trogon curucui), Rotschwanz-Glanzvogel (Galbula ruficauda), Halsbandara (Ara auricollis), Töpfervogel (Furnarius rufus commersoni), Linienspecht (Dryocopus lineatus), Fuchsroter Baumsteiger (Xiphocolaptes major) leben.

Am Nachmittag fahren Sie mit dem Auto zur Araras-Lodge (Fahrtzeit etwa eine halbe Stunde), um dort auf einen Hochsitz zu gehen. Sie wandern etwa 2 Kilometer durch unberührten Galeriewald und erleben die einmalige Schönheit des Pantanal aus der Vogelperspektive. Im Anschluss Rückfahrt zur Lodge, Abendessen und weitere Nachtsafari zum Aufspüren von nachtaktiven Tieren.


5th day: Pousada Rio Claro - Cuiabá

Nach dem Frühstück Fahrt nach Cuiabá oder weiteren Ausflug (je nach Abflugzeit). Das Programm endet am Flughafen in Cuiabá. Bei späterem Abflug (am Nachmittag) werden Sie noch am Vormittag eine Reit- oder Bootstour unternehmen.

Beverages and pesonal spendings.

Equipment:

Good footwear (light hiking boots), long jeans or trekking trousers, shirt or blouse with long sleeves, T-shirts and shirts for sleeping, hat, cap, headscarf or bandanna, sun blocker and mosquito repellent. No black clothing as it attracts  the mosquitoes. Sweatshirt, pullover or fleece jacket from June to September since it can get pretty cold at the evenings. Yellow fever immunization is strongly recommended.

Information:

Changes of the program due to weather and climate but also due to the flight times (arrival/departure) are possible (order of the accomodations). Changes of pricing due to exchange rates and organisatorical reasons are possible as well. Booking in a timely manner is recommended as the accomodations are booked up months in advance.
