Pousada Solar dos Deuses ****
In the historical centre of Salvador de Bahia, overlooking Sao Francisco square, among beautiful colonial and colourful houses, Pousada Solar dos Deuses is an ancient building perfectly restored. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. Every bedroom has the name of the ancient African Gods that still nowadays are worshipped in Bahia. The suites are furnished with local hand-crafted pieces. From the window of the manor built in the 17th century, “Pelourinho” and “Largo do Cruzeiro do São Francisco” are revealed, with their famous “Igreja de São Francisco” (San Francisco’s church). The interior of this church, which is an amazing baroque work-of-art, is gold plated and impresses both native people and travelers. In this well-preserved manor, going up and down its stairways, visitors feel they are part of the cultural scenery and history of the city of Salvador, in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Solar dos Deuses Pousada, offers 7 Suites of which 3 are located on the first floor. These 3 suites are called Oxalá, Xangô and Oxóssi and are located 24 stairs steps up. These suites are furnished with antiques and special woods. Antonio Junior was the decorator. 4 suites called Iansã, Oxum, Nanã e Iemanjá, are located 45 stair steps up and all of them are furnished with special pieces made in the city of Ilheus. These unique styles make floors 1st and 2nd to look completely different one from the other. The Suites are ample and comfortable, decorated with brazilian wood furniture, TV, telephone, frigobar, air conditioning, safe box and internet access. At the restaurant a delicious breakfast is served between 07:30 hrs and 11:00 hrs.
