 160 km from São Paulo and 60 km in front of the coast are the
Rainforest Camp „Salve Floresta“.Five hundred years ago, when the
Portuguese arrived here for the first time, a huge forest extended
along the Brazilian Coast. 12 % of the country was covered by this
wonderful forest. Nowadays, there is only 4.4 % left in protected areas and here, in the Rainforest Camp you will still find a wild forest with unforgettable sites. We have been making an effort to preserve this forest so that we can all have the benefits of this place. Help us to preserve the nature because with common sense and wisdom we will have the chance to preserve something of its ancient beauty. Preserving the Atlantic Rainforest, we will guarantee the survival of many animals that are threatened to extinction. Our lodge is composed by a big house with 14 rooms, 2 shared bathrooms, and 9 chalets with bathroom en-suit, a porch and a patio. We can pick you up at the airport or at the hotel. When it is raining heavy, our jeep 4X4 will take you safely back to the airport or up to the nearest station. You will walk thought a light trail with specialized guides. You do not need to be specially fit to do it, you just need to desire and enjoy doing it. For those who like walking, our walks take 4 to 6 hours. We are going to cross rivers and streams (for this we provide rubber boots), stop at waterfalls for refreshments, learn about the vegetation, and the animals, and observe the birds. Moreover, we are going to give you a strong snack to help you in the trek. Mata Atlântica Nowadays the preservation of the fauna diversity causes a worldwide
concern. In the Atlantic Rainforest the mammals are the animals which
most suffered with the vast deforestation. Nowadays, in our forests, there are the spider monkeys (muriqui), the biggest monkeys of the America which are under total ecological control. Just like them, many animals returned to the forest because of the control we have been making. The Atlantic Rainforest also known as The Tropical Coastal
Forest or Mata Atlântica is the region with the largest biodiversity in
the country. This forest stands out mainly because its large amount
of epiphytes such as bromeliceous, orchids and the most varied types
of trees and leaves that are always green, big and plain which
perfectly adapt to the rainy weather typical of this forest. Every
