Ilha Itamaracá(Airport Recife)
The island is about 50 kilometres north of Recife, the 2 million metropolis and provincial capital of the federal state Pernambuco in the northeast of Brazil. Attainable with the taxi, bus or alternative transport (estate car). The driving time of the international airport Recife amounts to about 60 minutes and of the centre for about 50 minutes "Guararapes/Gilberto Freyre". We pick you up from the airport on request of course and bring you to Itamaracá (against charges).
The tropical island of Itamaracá offers the visitor a wealth of sights and attractions. A luxuriant nature as well as cultural and historical treasures spread out separated from the mainland on more than 65 square kilometres by "Canal de Santa Cruz". Hotels, restaurants and bars make the stay comfortable, entertaining and pleasant for every visitor. 17 kilometres of beaches, mangrove marshes, walks by the Atlantic jungle, rivers, lagoons, sandbanks and coconut palms activate the ecological tourism. You get in contact with the native people here, get to know the local cooking and take part in the traditional folklore dances like Ciranda, Maracatú and Frevo. Every angle of the island is full of story. Ancient churches, fortresses, old sugar cane farms and ruins can be visited. Itamaracá offers excellent water sports facilities like Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, snorkels or jet ski. The Pousada is led by a German and his Brazilian wife. Sonia is Brazilian and provides order in the house and the ethnic German Hans Peter who lives on the island for already 15 years provides for the physical well-being of his guests. Who loves the quiet and nature is exactly right.  The guesthouse disposed of 6 double rooms, everyone with shower/toilet and ventilator established. Also families with children are welcome. A greater suite is available for her. The pool of one's own invites to a refreshing bath. It is 300 metres to the beach and to the tourist destination of the outing "forte orange" footpath for 10 minutes.  A trained cook is Peter and the possibility offers both a typical Brazilian and international cooking serving. It can or else be booked also with half-board (optional noon or dinner) with breakfast.
